June 2016 Cotton Club - WildFlower

Spend $175+, receive FREE SHIPPING*! (*US only. International will receive “in kind” shipping credit)

This is Judy and Judel Neimeyer's second fabric collection - WildFlower - for Timeless Treasures. Both are ardent lovers of the West, and to this date all their fabric designs reflect that adoration. This time it is with the natural flora that abounds - trillium, beard tongue, hummingbirds and more. The colors are soft and light, the designs appear shattered as if a piece of ice has broken or you're looking through a prism.

3 x 5 scan of 8" x 14" fabric

C1906 Cattails Lavender

C1906 Cattails Lavender is part of the Wildflowers collection from Timeless Treasures by Judy and Judel Niemeyer.

This piece is very pale, a light lavender that reads almost white. The cattail motifs alternate in direction so this is not a directional fabric. The motifs are in shades of bright white and pale blue. This would be a fabulous background or light accent.

C1903 Alberta Penstemon Dark

C1903 Alberta Penstemon Dark is part of the Wildflowers collection from Timeless Treasures by Judy and Judel Niemeyer.

Penstemon flowers are commonly called beardtongues. I think they look like snapdragons. This fabric combines the organic look of the flowers and a fractured element of irregular triangles. Water-y shades of blue to lilac will add a cool, fresh feel to any project.

One Leaf Pattern & Kit
This pattern is designed by Judy Neimeyer for Quiltworx.

With contemporary layouts either taking the shape of leaves or with pieced backgrounds, these patterns are designed to make the leaf the focus of every project. This pattern features Judy’s newest foundation paper piecing technique, Curved Paper Piecing. And, once the leaf is complete, it is bound and appliqued to the background to give a contemporary, bold impression, perfect as a form of wall art and decorative feature to any décor. A very fast project, this pattern will be one that is made over and over again and can be taught in a one-day workshop as an introduction to paper piecing and Judy’s techniques!

Finished size is 20" x 40". Our kit will include fabrics from our shop. Just an FYI - Though the finished piece is relatively small, it does require a lot of fabric because if the background pieces are directional, then you need to cut the piece out along the selvage.

Our kit will include enough material to make the top and binding. The pattern is not included and sold separately. Backing is optional.

See some patterns & hexagons from within the book.

The New Hexagon

The New Hexagon by Katja Marek puts a twist on hexagons and paper piecing.

Unlock the possibilities within hexagons and make your own unique blocks. Learn the glue-basting method of English paper piecing and use it to create exciting designs. You'll enjoy relaxing handwork as you incorporate hexagons into decorative projects.

•Select from 52 patterns for 6" blocks.
•Divide the shapes within the hexagon outline and discover new shapes.
•Stitch projects ranging from a mug rug and candle mat to a bed-sized quilt.

Make each hexagon look like a kaleidoscope. The possibilities seem endless - just imagine using Paula Nadelstern's bilaterally symmetrical fabrics (mirrored images).

Make each hexagon as simple or as complex as you'd like. Take a look at the larger image. In it you'll find a pattern for the Daisy Chain Nursery which could be made for a dear little new one on the way, or heck, it's the new modern quilt! The second set of pictures are from the Millefiori quilt within the book that Karen F is working on. The first is a reduced picture of the main hexagon (or rosette) in the quilt.
