|Cheryl began making this pouch years ago and finally shared it with us. She makes these for just about everyone she knows. Now you can too! Make this for yourself, your quilt group, friends and family. |
This is a black micromesh zippered pouch where you place your handmade yo-yos onto it. Use this to carry your sewing notions such as marking tools, needles, threads, scissors, some of your applique tools - really almost anything - especially if you need to put your smaller items into something when traveling on a quilt retreat or taking a class.
This is also great to make for the young ones to use to carry their pens, pencils and markers when they return to school this Fall. It could also be used for a makeup bag, or small purse, or, or, or...
You make this yourself. It consists of making 56 small (1 1/4") size yo-yos. Then hand sew them together, 7 yo-yos to a row, attach each row, 4 rows to each side, and attach them to the bag at the top and the bottom. Really quite simple - just use the larger picture to help guide you as to how to put this together.
It's a great project for the summer while traveling on the road, sitting waiting for appointments, i.e. doctor.
All you need:
The Small (green) Yo-Yo maker, 1 1/4"
Either 56, four inch squares using our precut 4" squares from the Modern Monet collection, OR use a charm pack (5" squares) - Cheryl says you can make two
yo-yos from one 5" square.
The micomesh bag - 4" x 7"
Beads for zipper tassel (if you wish)
We've put one kit together using 4" squares, see below. Or choose what you want. Oh and you'll also want to make "pull" for the zipper. In this picture, you see we've used beads. Use the beads we have, or make yourself a tassel, or whatever comes to your mind.
