Joyce begins by pressing freezer paper templates onto the right side of her fabric. Then, leaving wide seam allowances, she cuts out the shapes she calls "wedges". Next, she presses under the concave seam allowances of the wedges. Matching the pressed concave edge of one wedge to the flat convext edge of its neighbr, she applies a dab of basing glue to hold the pieces in place while she stitches in the pressed creases. The result is a precisely pieced seam.
