Crossbody Cell Phone Purse
Here is just the cutest and handiest purse you'll find by Celia Roberts. It's not meant to carry lots - just your essentials and keep them secure too - cell phone, credit/debit cards, keys, sunglasses! |
For those on the go - that need to carry somethings, but hate carrying around a purse larger than needed (because you do end up putting more in than you really need, and it gets heavey...) and you'd like it to look "cool" and fashionable - this is it. Great for the young'uns too. Finished size is approximately 5" x 7". Skill level - advanced beginner.
This pattern is fat quarter friendly. However we're told that you can squeeze 3 purses out of a 1/2 yard piece for the focus fabric and another 1/2 yard to use for the lining.
The pattern includes one set of hardware and strap to make one purse (zipper not included). Purchase additional hardware/strap kits (zipper not included) for the others you'll find you'll need to make. Simply the best idea for gifts! All our hardware and straps are black.
You'll also need a heavyweight interfacing. Celia recommends a single-sided fusible heavyweight Pellon too, but we showed her our Stiff Stuff and she says that would work just as well because you sew the fabric onto the interfacing anyway, and your purse would retain its shape too!
For fun fabric ideas we have Jane Sassaman, Amy Butler and Tula Pink Free Spirit fabrics, or maybe you'll find something from Clothworks that might be more appealing.
