K410 Magmatude - Caribbean
Paula says "from the start, ChromaZone was to be about color." And since she does not "create" using a computer, she actually works with her own fabric, cutting it up and putting it together like a collage, which are then scanned into a computer and worked from there by the CAD artist. Magmatude evolved from her "Magma" design (still available) from her older Palindrome collection. Paula continues to say that once her designs are in the computer and worked by the CAD artist, she then goes in and "colors." She is fascinated with the ability to cause different color ways of the same design to function in diverse ways. Such as coloring one motif in soft hues in one color way so that it recedes, and in another color way, she'll make that same motif "pop." In Magmatude there are 2 distinct bilaterally symmetrical motifs. One is 8" in diameter, the other is smaller, 4 1/2" in diameter and nested between the larger. The repeat is 15", therefore in order to get a minimum of 8 repeats for each motif, you will need at least 1 yard. This pattern comes in 2 other color ways - Red/Green and Multi. Here is a fabric pack of all four ChromaZone Prima Donnas in the Multi color way. You'll find full or partial panel of the Dragon Medallion (depending on your yardage selection), then the three bilaterally symmetrical fabrics - Magmatude, Filigree and Vox - in the yardage of your choice. Be sure to also check out her new reads-like-a-solid colors. She has chosen to resurrect her very organic looking Sun Stone design. However these colors are very bright and very lively. The work perfectly with this new collection as well as her older lines. This now brings the Sun Stone collection to a total of 33 colors. Ref # K410
