|This is the original Lucky at Checkers from Joyce Lawrence Cambron of Seam Like Fun Quilt Designs. Lucky at Checkers began as a bed quilt. This has become a favorite here at the Cotton Club. And our "go to" pattern when we come across gorgeous fabrics like the Full Bloom and Essence collections. Oh, FYI, the picture has some pieces missing. I'm not as clever at photoshop as I'd like to think ;) |
Actually, if you like this picture that does show you white corner triangles - well we could add as an option 1/4 yard of white so that you can make those instead. The white does add an element of softness don't you think?
Combining a large print focus fabric and interesting sashing fabrics will really make this quilt sparkle. Pattern includes directions for 3 sizes.
Joyce thought you would like to know what other tools she found very helpful in making this quilt:
First, for Fancy Cutting the large Floral Motifs a Creative Grids pressure sensitive two way cutting 9-1/2” sq. Ruler.
Eventually she also created The Lucky at Checkers Table Runner as well, and it, too, has been a favorite for many years, to see our table runner kits.
This Lucky At Checkers allows you to make 3 different bed quilt sizes - a Queen, 90" x 107"; a twin, 74" x 91"; and a lap quilt, 66" square.
We've put a kit together using the Full Bloom and Essence collections for any size to make the top and the binding. Oh, and FYI, you will be given enough material to miter the borders and fussy cut the motifs if you prefer. Backing is optional and the pattern is sold separately.
